After hours upon hours of brainstorming logos for Bark Gallery, I wanted something that showed the artistic side of my company. The concept of a line drawing has always fascinated me for its simplicity and effectiveness. I looked at several options online and used the reference of Picasso's famous line drawing of his dog. I reached out to several friends who have the ability to draw. My friend Aaron, the one who hand drew out my logo, came up with this elegant black and white shot of my dog Bear. I have the original scan of his hand drawing below. You can see where the pen he used wasn't laying down solid black lines.
I took the hand drawn logo and scanned it into a digital format. I then took the artwork into Photoshop and cleaned up a few of the pen strokes. I extracted it from the background and made the logo, so it had a transparent background.
Bark Gallery, being a pet photography company, specializes in wall art. The logo had to represent that, and what better model than my very own dog. I love the feel of my logo and I often have it on just about everything I own.
