Why hire a Professional Pet Photographer? - Las Vegas Pet Photography

Jet and Bella- Bark Gallery Session

You have just under 1000 photos on your cell phone of your beloved furry family member. You are constantly snapping the candid moments of your pet and you may share them on your social media. You have photos that you really like and they are cute but one slight problem, they are not exactly what you want for a photographic print. It's quite possible you have tried to print the photos or they are blurry, include a random arm, or various other distracting elements. I have several cell phone photos of my personal dog, they are quick snaps when out playing or at home when he has a cute face. The photos are nice and great to share with friends on Facebook or Instagram but they do not have the wow factor of a professional photographic print.

The best thing about hiring a professional pet photographer like Bark Gallery is that you will have cherished memories of your pet for years to come. When I come out to photograph your pet the photos are taken with the highest quality camera equipment on the market today. The camera and all of the professional lenses are tools but using my knowledge of photography and my years of experience is what ultimately brings you the best portraits of your pet. I always offer the highest quality archival photo products that will last a lifetime.

I have often been at shows and events and people will come up to me and say "Oh I love the photos, I need photos of my dog!" every now and then someone walks up and says "wow I wish I had met you a few months ago before my pet crossed the rainbow bridge, I only have some cell phone photos." This is heart breaking to me there isn't anything I can say that would make a difference. Cell Phone photos are great for candid moments if you are good with a cell phone camera you could probably get some decent photos. (For some tips with that check out my blog post 5 tips for photographing pets with your cell phone. ) The best representation of your family pet comes from hiring a professional pet photographer. The final prints that I produce have so much detail that you can see every single whisker, and clump of hair. This is a great way to always have a clear memory of your pet!

Pet Photography is about capturing a portrait that will last forever. You can always look back on the photo and remember the wagging tail, the joy everyday when you get home, the unique characteristics of that pet, and other fond memories. All of the Bark Gallery photo products are archival, and long lasting. I also make sure to take as many steps in preserving the archives of images so that I always have them on file.

Professional pet photography offers a different perspective on your family pet. The color, clarity, composition, location, and timing all play a large role in the final portrait. This comes from photographing hundreds and hundreds of animals. The other part of that equation is that I also have spent years learning photography, photo retouching, lighting, and animal behaviors. That all is a large part of how I am able to get pet portraits consistently to look amazing.

I frequently have pet portrait events at local stores and people will mention how I won't be able to get a photo of their dog because of numerous reasons. The most common is that they won't stay still or won't sit. I have a few pet tricks that can help me get a dog to sit. This comes from photographing numerous dogs and other animals over the years.

When looking to hire a professional photographer there is a ton of choices. Photography is a popular art form and with digital technology a lot of people have learned how to use a camera. The difference is that I have over 10 years of experience with photography. I am self-taught for the most part but I have attended several trade shows on photography and post processing. I feel that you can teach someone the mechanics of a camera, this is an f-stop, shutter speed, and so on. You can not teach the artistic eye and ability that comes naturally.

My passion is photographing animals. I love animals and think they are all unique.  I like to capture the beauty and interesting characteristics of animals. This is why I have focused on pets in my photography business. My abilities to capture animals in studio or natural environments is what keeps clients coming back to Bark Gallery.
