Husky Puppys- Bark Gallery Session

The sessions that are really spontaneous, and the hardest to predict have to be puppy sessions. The puppies are generally not trained, and have spurts of crazy puppy energy followed by quick naps. Generally speaking if the puppies haven't been fully vaccinated, the session has to be done in a place where they are not at risk for disease.

This session was done in a hotel suite in  Las Vegas. Safety being the number one concern, this room was pet friendly but most likely doesn't constantly have pets in the room. We had 7 Siberian Husky puppies. I had a few people around to assist with my photographic goals during this session. I usually try to elevate puppies on something, as this perspective offers better photos of the pups.

I was hoping to get some photos of the puppies all together. I was also hoping for a few photos of the puppies sleeping. This was going to be quite the task, 7 sleeping puppies all at the same time. I was also videotaping a behind the scenes video of this session.  When you watch the video you will see me using my iphone, I was using some sound bites to get attention.

The question that comes up often, How did you get them to stay still? Well patience and a bit of dog knowledge. Puppies usually have spurts of energy, they then become a bit restless, I used this to my advantage and let them run around a bit while I got things all setup. Once we started placing the puppies on the ottoman, I had 3 people assisting, one behind, and two on either side. This was the fastest way to make sure that they mostly stayed in the same spot. Then... ***squeek*** then pups quickly glanced at my direction and we were off to a great start. I hope you enjoy the quick behind the scenes video clip. I have also attached a few of my favorite photos from this Bark Gallery Session.
