Fupi Puppies Bark Sessions

Zoey, Mikey, and Molly-

"The FUPI Puppies" Mikey, Molly, and Zoey were rescued by FUPI in Las Vegas ,Nevada. I did several sessions with various themes over the first few months of them being adopted. The FUPI Puppies were found by a volunteer in a box outside a Home Depot in California, with the words "Free" on the side. The rescue volunteer knew that she had to help these puppies. So they started their journey to Las Vegas. There was 4 of them in the box that day.  This is a little story about 3 of them that got adopted by good friends of Bark Gallery. The fourth is living in Las Vegas, and talks about having a puppy play day soon, but was not present for any of the Bark Sessions.

The first session was a lot of fun and we did studio photography and outdoor action portraits. Mikey is my personal favorite in the litter. He seems to have a captivating personality. His sisters Zoey and Molly seem to be a bit more laid back. Puppies are generally a lot of fun to photograph, they are fairly easy to alert as they are curious. This trio was well behaved and liked to look right at the camera! It was interesting to see how much larger Mikey is over his sisters, to this day he weighs almost double his sisters!

The second session was the holiday session, we setup Christmas lights and wrapped presents to use the photos for holiday advertisements. This series with the holiday theme are some of my favorite photos. They had grown quite a bit and were quite used to the camera and posing.

They quickly became naturals of posing for the camera.

The next Bark session was out at Red Rock Canyon to get some outdoor photos of the trio. This session was a lot of fun as we got to take them out for a long walk, while I photographed them. The fun part was that the puppies were photographed in a different way each Bark session, I either did outside action, or studio backdrops. When I would take photos with the backgrounds I would change the background often so that the photos all had a different look to them. This was helpful in keeping the sessions fresh as well as being able to tell the different Bark sessions apart!

Serious Face... :)

What's that noise?

The Fupi puppies were also on the cover of the Las Vegas Pet Scene magazine. It was about music so we got creative with records and different musical instruments for the cover. I photograph the majority of the covers for the magazine; they are generally themed to a story. The story in this issue was about the healing powers of music for your pets!

Every Bark Gallery photo session that we did together was always different and was always a wonderful time. It's nice to see that an unwanted litter of puppies could blossom into such amazing dogs. I think the brindled coloring is extremely unique on each of the dogs. I have said numerous times that I would steal Mikey, his dog mother constantly reminds me that I would be tracked down!
